KNUST Receives Team From Gold Field Ghana Foundation to Enhance Student Support

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has welcomed a team from the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation.

The Foundation is commited to supporting brilliant but needy students. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over 2,000 scholarships, with 58 KNUST students currently benefiting.

The team led by the Executive Secretary, Mr. Abdel-Razak Yakubu sought to familiarize themselves with the management of the University and interact with the beneficiaries of the Foundation’s scholarship programme.

“We are here to interact and engage with the students to understand the challenges they face. Beyond financial support, we want to explore other ways we can assist them in their academic journey,” Mr. Abdel-Razak Yakubu said.

Professor David Asamoah, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and University Management, expressed appreciation to Gold Fields Ghana Foundation for its continued support.

He noted that the rising cost of higher education makes such partnerships essential in ensuring that deserving students receive the assistance they need.

“University education has become quite expensive, but with the support of partners like Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, we can continue to assist brilliant but needy students.

"The Vice- Chancellor’s vision for strategic partnerships aligns with this initiative, and we are pleased to collaborate with you to make a meaningful impact on society. Be assured that our doors are always open for further engagement,” he stated.

Present at the meeting were, Mrs. Theodora Oduro, Senior Assistant Registrar at the Directorate of Student Affairs, KNUST; Gifty Antwiwaa Gyamfi, Project Coordinator, Gold Fields Ghana Foundation and Mr. Samuel Atta Kesse, Assistant Project Coordinator, Gold Fields Ghana Foundation.
