The Undergraduate Residential Committee (UNRC) 2025/2026 Administration has held its maiden official meeting with the Director of Student Affairs (DoSA) as part of efforts to formally introduce the new leadership and seek guidance for effective service delivery.
The meeting, which took place on 21st January 2026, provided an opportunity for the UNRC leadership to interact with the Director of Student Affairs and outline their vision for improving student welfare across residential constituencies on campus.
During the engagement, the UNRC administration officially introduced its members to the Director and reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Directorate of Student Affairs to enhance the living and learning experience of students.

In her remarks, the Director of Student Affairs welcomed the new administration and commended them for taking the initiative to engage the Directorate early in their tenure. She emphasized the importance of leadership, collaboration, and proactive advocacy in addressing student concerns and assured the delegation of the Directorate’s continued support.
Key discussions during the meeting focused on critical safety and infrastructural concerns affecting students. The UNRC outlined plans to advocate for improved campus security through coordinated security campaigns aimed at promoting a safer environment within residential areas. Issues relating to the repair and maintenance of faulty lighting systems across various constituencies were also highlighted as a priority to enhance night-time safety.
Additionally, the UNRC proposed advocacy efforts for the installation of road safety signs and proper road markings in collaboration with relevant local authorities. The leadership also raised concerns about vehicular safety and congestion, calling for the installation of speed ramps at the Bridge Just Junction leading to the Medical Village and traffic lights at the four-junction near the old Kotei Palace.
To address persistent congestion at the Ayeduase Gate, the UNRC further proposed the enforcement of local security measures to regulate activities of local transport operators and ensure smooth traffic flow.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to sustained collaboration between the UNRC and the Directorate of Student Affairs to address student welfare issues effectively. The UNRC administration expressed appreciation to the Director for the guidance and pledged to work diligently to translate the discussions into tangible outcomes for the student body
